Sacramento based , A Mile Till Dawn was formed in late 2012 by founding members Colyn Bowman and Shawn Council. With the encouragement of local producer Zac Z Rokk Diebles, Bowman and Council picked up Lead Guitarist Darren Wheeler and Bassist Gabe Cheng. Singer/Lyricist Kate Robinette was the last to join and the band quickly realized they had something special and got to work pumping out six original songs within a few months.
Originally called "Surrender", the band re-branded as "A Mile Till Dawn" early this year, a nod to the forward thinking, hard driving work ethic which is the hallmark of this young quintet.
With shades of early Paramore and a respectful nod to the Deftones, AMTD has created their own breakout sound highlighting the hard driving drums of Council and energetic bass stylings of Cheng. Each member has formal training in music theory and songwriting which is evident on the band's first offering, a demo of five originals available for download on reverbnation.com
2014 will be a big year for AMTD. After playing local venues through most of 2013, the band is currently working on a full length EP and video under the direction of producer HazMatt Thomas of Precision Multimedia.

But while people may quibble over specifics, rock music can generally be described as hard-edged music performed with electric guitars, bass, and drums and usually accompanied by lyrics sung by a vocalist.
And then came, A Mile till Dawn
