Twenty-one year old singer/songwriter, Lauren Kershner, raised in Central Oregon, has been a music lover since she was a child. She began singing and writing songs at a young age, and began composing on the piano at sixteen-drawing inspiration from her favorite musical artist, Vanessa Carlton. Her songs are those of heartbreak and raw emotion, though her autobiographical song "Piano Girl" is an example of her more light-hearted songs. Lauren took choir all throughout high school, winning multiple "choir awards" her Senior year for her talents. She was also given the honor of singing the National Anthem at her graduation. Since high school, Lauren has performed at various venues in Central Oregon and at the Deschutes County Fair, has auditioned for American Idol twice, won several songwriting awards, and is currently recording her first EP due for release in 2012.
