Nick Zaroba / Bio

Born October 24, 1981 and best known as NickZ, Nicholas Ryan Zaroba is an American rapper and entrepreneur. His father sang doo-wop and was the only Caucasian in Brooklyn's Bedford-Stuyvesant street gang, The Bishops.

His father left the household when NickZ was only 6 years old and tried to be the man of the house the best way possible for his mom and handicapped sister. By the tender age of 9, NickZ was dodging “blue lights”...street fights, school suspensions, house arrests, weekend lockups at the youth detention center, and 7 months in the Commonwealth Challenge juvenile boot camp program.

While still a teen, NickZ’s life became a struggle. In addition to receiving 6 felonies for drug trafficking and malicious wounding charges, his fiancé was raped and murdered and a friend was shot to death and died in his arms. By the time he was 29, he’s been held at gunpoint and attended 10 funerals. Now focused on helping those less fortunate, NickZ is determined to shed light on the streets and keep it 100 through his music.

His hard work is finally paying off. NickZ is capitalizing on his 10 years’ experience in party rapping at Virginia's Radford University and studio works with Wicked Life Productions in Newtown, Florida. Doug Kaye (Bubba Sparxxx Project) heard NickZ's demo and sent it to A&R friends at Interscope Records. He's received very positive feedback through that connection and others in the music industry. NickZ is focused on proving them right.

Be sure to catch the “Based on a True Story” LP in the upcoming months or see Nick Z live at open mike contests and showcases throughout Florida.
