A sound of strength and resilience, Cori Emmett, a 21 year old singer, songwriter, and musician from Lawton, OK enthusiastically devotes her life to music since her first debut in a school talent show at 5 years old.
In 1999, when Cori was 8, an tornado destroyed her home, and she ate from the Salvation Army Truck. Following that experience, her goal became giving back to her community through reaching others with her music. She graciously served over 2000 hours of community service.
Cori performs with passion and intensity. Her poignant lyrics represent the essence of her vitality and potential.
She performed at Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge in downtown Nashville debuting her mighty repertoire by 12. She picked up the guitar at 13, by the age of 14, Cori fronts her own band, No U Turn with moving vitality.
In addition, Cori has played at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar in OKC and Thackerville; NBA Thunder Opening Day Celebration; Chesapeake Boot of Oklahoma; Oklahoma City's Opening Night New Year's Eve Celebration; many fairs and festivals, clubs and corporate events throughout Oklahoma and Texas.
The 77th Army Band named her an honorary member. She received the President's Volunteer Service Award and the Prudential Spirit of Community Award.
In 2007 with her musical talent, Cori impressed a music heavy weight, who had toured for years with Reba, Brooks and Dunn, and Sara Evans, and who now is the director of the “School of Rock” in Oklahoma City (acm@uco). After witnessing her seasoned stage presence, he took her under his wing to co-write and produce several tunes performed in her live shows.
She is releasing her first studio album on May 3rd recorded in Nashville at "Alex the Great Studio". Album titled "Released" paints contemporary country with an assortment of flavors from fun nights out, relationship revenge, to break ups and new found love. This album has songs written from some of the top writers in Nashville. It blends powerhouse vocals and well-written tracks that 'SCREAM' radio play.
