Day In Day Out / Bio

Michael Robinson
Huntington, WV
Kill the house lights and hush the crowd
Last sentences mutter and then cease
The room has become a shadow
From the lamp in the corner
Dark heads sway and prepare for the impact of sound
There was something in his voice when he spoke
Something that said we should all prepare ourselves for a wave
A wave of emotion
Of passion
Of bleeding chords and authentic voices
Of raging cymbals
Of relentless noise
Every member standing before us has a pulse nearly visible
As the clock runs down
I can recognize their anxiety
Their unmatched desire to do what they are about to do
It is uncontainable
And so it escapes through their body
They radiate in this dark room
Adrenaline envelopes them
One last grin to each other
To everyone that has gotten them to this point
One last nod to every fellow band member
This is what they live for
Day in
Day out
And they face us
And they collide with each other
And we collide with each other
And they scream
And we scream
And they dance
And we dance
And in this dark room strangers aren’t strangers anymore
We are not separate
But rather one vessel
One moving, throbbing, beating orchestration
And they are the artist that molded us into this most pure of forms
And so we applaud them
We encourage them
For an hour, they are ours to worship

And we do.
