Lynda DeFuria is a Las Vegas raised, New York based, award-winning singer, songwriter, and Off-Broadway actress. With the combination of her heartfelt, quirky, piano driven pop/rock songwriting, powerhouse vocals, and electric stage presence, Lynda will captivate your ear and your heart.
From a young age, Lynda was determined to make music and performing the center of her life which led her to performances at The Sydney Opera House, The GRAMMY Foundation's GRAMMY Camp Songwriter’s Showcase, national TV's Showtime at the Apollo, and more all before graduating high school from the prestigious Las Vegas Academy of Performing Arts. While studying at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Lynda committed to soaking in every opportunity around her; playing Boston venues (The Red Room, Church, Harper’s Ferry) with her band, dipping her toe into the musical theatre scene, and writing and recording her debut EP, Alive which includes the BMI John Lennon Songwriting Scholarship, Berklee Songwriter’s Night, and FUSION Magazine Songwriting Contest winning song, “Where You Stand.”
Lynda’s original music blends catchy pop hooks and confessionally honest - sometimes intense, sometimes lighthearted, but ”relatable lyrics” with soaring vocals, and a hint of theatrics to “paint aural landscapes of acceptance, love, the unseen, belief, and hope.” Her most recent release, Ticking Clocks, an 8-song, self written and produced album is “stricken with conviction and passion, but balanced with innocence and joy.” Always writing from personal experience, Lynda weaves her hopeful and optimistic take on the struggles and joys of life, love, and finding one’s purpose into heartfelt and catchy melodies.
A versatile performer and musician satisfying her love for performing, creating, and “just tryin’ to make people happy” through music, Lynda is now living in New York City where she works as a singer, songwriter, and actress. Lynda frequents many New York venues such as Rockwood Music Hall, The Bitter End, The Living Room, Time Out New York Lounge, and more playing with her band. Her stage credits include Fancy Nancy (National Tour & Off-Broadway), the world premiere production of Barcode (Debs) at the NY Fringe Festival, various lead roles in staged readings of new works, and more well known roles regionally such as Grizabella (CATS) and Olive Ostrovsky (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee).
In addition to performing her original music and pursuing Broadway dreams, Lynda also splits her time teaching early childhood music classes and private students, and is available for demo session work.
