Uncontrollable Urge, a name which is a tribute inspired to the mythic and controversial DEVO, but that also defines the mentality of the five components of the Band that pursues the idea of a music with no boundaries, driven from pure instinct only. Single influences meet and melt together creating a masterly chaotic plot of genres with the unique scope of transporting the audience in a parallel dimension where irony mitigate all drama and anger that dominate their music.

UU self-define their music as “Post Atomic Rock”: Fully inspired from Post-Metal and Sludge, with touches of psychedelic and dissonant elements, their music lead to confuse the atmosphere, making it sulphurous and suffocating like in an hypothetic a post atomic winter.

Founded in Florence, Italy, in the Summer of 2008, the group recorded the first Demo “For personal use” in April 2009 and won the critic prize during the first night of the “PienoBasta Contest “ event. This appreciation was the foundation that motivated the group to self-produce the Debut Album “Dirge” that, from June 2012, is advertised and distributed from Copro Records UK.
In the meanwhile, the Band kept promoting their work through to the “Splurge the Verge – European tour” across Austria, Slovenia, France, Belgium and Germany. They take opportunities to play with Calibro 35, Kobayashi, Qube, Dark Quarterer, Topsy the Great, Maniscalco Maldestro, 81db and Veto. The Band also leave its sign also in varius compilations including “Rock4Haiti”, “Coop in Musica”, "L'altra faccia del Rcock Underground" and have opportunity to participate to Radio and TV shows such as Mariskal Romero Show (ES), Generate radio (UK), Radiogas, Radio Emme, Radio Indygesta, Radiospin, M2O and Lucca Summer Giovani
Certainly all those small but firm steps motivate the band that is everyday more enthusiastic and willing to keep creating their music.
