Kym Larsen has been singing from the young age of three, around the time she found out what music and singing really was. She remembers putting together a song at the age of five but no longer can recall what or where it is.
Singing in her Elementary, Middle School, and HS choirs were all she needed to learn how to sing properly and share her talent with locals. She's never been professionally taught one on one and has been called a natural gifted individual.
There are many professional musicians/singers that Kym has looked up to, including, David Bowie, Bette Midler, Julie Andrews, Madonna, Annie Lennox, Fleetwood Mac [Esp. Stevie Nicks & Lindsey Buckingham], Cyndi Lauper, and Cher. There are not that many modern musicians/singers that she really finds fascinating besides P!nk and Lady GaGa. Kym thinks that the music industry of today has lost all it's original ethics and soul because she believes that music should be for telling real life stories and experiences, not just made up romances. She believes that the music industry can do a little less with out sex being it's only way to sell.
Kym is just starting to expand her knowledge of the music industry and won a local singing contest in Melbourne, FL. [Brevard's Next Big Thing 2010] and tried syncing with a local bands but hasn't been able to find one she clicks with. Kym took to finding a producer in Orlando in 2012 where she teamed up with Tim Coons and created her first EP of Retro Rock/Modern tunes.
At this point in time, Kym is working on new material with Rich Brown of Atlantis Recording in Branson, MO. She has drummer, Gary Lynn Hodges, and keyboard player, David Orlando, playing on her new record. She's signed with Tate Music Group and the new artist with Canadian American, where her first EP is available.
