Sonar Lights is eagerly gearing up for their second China tour in May 2014. The rock trio from Dallas/Fort Worth, TX made quite an impression last year with Chinese fans and promoters. After their successful “Enter the Snake 2013 Tour,” the band was promptly asked to return to rock the masses again at the Midi Festival; the largest rock festival in the country.
The past 12 months have been extremely busy for the band. In addition to their overseas touring duties, the band has built their own recording/rehearsal studio and is in pre-production for their second independently released album. They’ve accomplished all this without the backing of a label, management team or distribution deal.
Sonar Lights was formed in 2010 and has been hovering under the mainstream radar. Their sharp songwriting delivered by a balanced meld of mighty guitar hooks influenced by the early heavy metal era, pummeling rhythmic textures and melodic vocals are things that do not go unnoticed. Sonar Lights independently released their debut album, “Here We Are” in 2012 and has steadily gained credibility from fans, the media and fellow musicians alike.
Disc jockey Angela Chase from 97.1 FM “The Eagle,” the largest rock radio station in North Texas said on her show, “I would highly recommend that you spend the $9.99 on iTunes and download a copy of Sonar Lights’ album. They have quite a few good songs on it.”
The band’s image and sound has caught the attention of the industry’s top music equipment manufacturers. Sonar Lights has proudly built working sponsorships with PRS Guitars, Bogner Amplification, Warwick Bass Guitars, Eden Electronics, Essential Sound Products, George L's, Mono Case, Trailer Trash Pedalboards, Pigtronix Effect Pedals, Clayton guitar picks and Dunlop electronics.
Sonar Lights is dedicated to bringing back the ideal of creating an album with a reason for existence and delivers a brand of rock that has been desperately missed.
