Years of Ernest is a South Western Ontarian arrangement of four who consider themselves a testament to the value of collective efforts. Building from a foundation of comradery, mutual respect, and shared tastes, these addicts of the stage fuse folk sensibilities with rock's driving and sometimes chaotic aggressive spirit. The desire to reach a compromise between such styles and efforts is evident in each performance, which can only be assessed as a whole. These musicians are surely one unit.
Whether one is impressed by finely crafted harmonies and lyrics, thunderous drums, or ferocious and distorted bass lines and guitar solos, Years of Ernest seem to maintain a legitimate and delicate balance on a line which puts more at risk than it stores away. This live performance leaves it all on stage with a trail of beer, sweat, blood, and exhausted effort. These men are not here for a sing-song.
Years of Ernest released their first full length record, "A Crooked Storyline" to great fanfare in the summer of 2011. They can be seen playing locally in the Windsor area and participating in various East Coast and Ontario tours. Buy a record, catch show, and stay informed at www.reverbnation.com/YearsofErnest
