Rose has been a staff songwriter at Sony Tree Music Publishing Nashville for over 8 years where he perfected his songwriting craft.
His songs have been recorded by Juno Award Winners Doc Walker in Canada and has achieved a Post Grammy Nomination in the USA for an Original Composition with Orion Films with Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Inductee “Bill Medley “ of The Rightheous Brothers.
Rose has worked with legendary Music Producers such as Mick Ronson ( David Bowie , Lou Reed Bob Dylan ), Jim Steinman ( Meatloaf , Celine Dion ) and Paul A Rothchild ( The Doors , JaniJoplin)
Rose has collaborated with highly respected songwriters such as Anton Fig ( David Letterman Drummer CBS ORCHESTRA , Ace Frehley), Desmond Child ( Bonjovi , Kiss , Aerosmith ) ,Monty Powell ( Keith Urban , Lady Entubelem , Tim McGraw) and actor Louis Vanaria ( Actor in A Bronx Tale , Boardwalk Empire ) to name a few.

While performing in Hartford , Connecticutt Rick Rose was introduced to legendary glam rock guitarist Mick Ronson (David Bowie, John Mellencamp, Lou Reed, Bob Dylan), who was instrumental in securing Rick’s first record contract with Attic/Polygram Records in Canada. Rick’s premier album, Perfect Affair, earned him two top singles in Canada – She’s Got It & “On The Edge”
Perfect Affair performed at the world famous “El Mocambo” in Toronto , Can. with an on air live simulcast on CHUM FM Radio and a sold out performance at Ontario Place Bandstand the same week.
Rick and his band Perfect Affair hit the road promoting the debut album in many Canadian arenas opening for Kim Mitchell , Streetheart , Toronto , Platinum Blonde , Teenage Head , Lee Aaron Joe Perry Project , Mountain , Manfred Man & Long John Baldry

Rick’s songwriting journey took him across the Southern U.S. where he set up writing sessions with Lynyrd Skynyrd vocalist Johnny Van Zant and Former USA President Bill Clinton’s brother Roger Clinton , recording at the Rodney Mills Masterhouse studio in Atlanta (38 Special , Allman Brothers Band , The Wallflowers)
He played his song creations live in front of acts that he was personally invited to such as The Band , Eddie Money , Nazareth , Rick Emmit , BTO & Tragicaly Hip.
He also maintained his ties in New York City through his songwriting connections , working with Manager Dee Anthony (Peter Frampton, ELP, Jethro Tull , Joe Cocker , Humble Pie , Tony Bennett ) and developing songwriting partnerships with drummer/songwriter Anton Fig from The David Letterman Show, actor Louis Vanaria who starred in Robert DeNiro’s A Bronx Tale.
Rick was introduced to A & R Director Corky Laing at Polygram Canada and Rose was offered a development deal with Polygram Canada and was asked to record with Mick Taylor of The Rolling Stones.

Post Grammy Nomination for title track “Rude Awakeing’

During his time in New York City , Rick also received a Post Grammy Nomination for Best Original Song for Rude Awakening performed by Bill Medley, the theme song to an Orion film featuring Eric Roberts and Cheech Marin that Rick co-wrote with world renowned music producers Paul A. Rothchild (The Doors, Janis Joplin, CSNY) and Jim Steinman (Meatloaf and Celine Dion).
Rick was sent a script of the movie from Paul A Rothchild and asked if he could write a theme song for the movie that film producer Arron Russo who was Bette Midler’s manager and has produced previous films such as Trading Places , The Rose Teachers & Atlantic City.Aaron first choice to sing Rick’s song was Roger Daltrey of The Who , Roger loved the song and started the recording process then Pete Tonwsend called a reunion tour for The Who and Rodger had to decline on finishing the track.
Aaron brought in Bill Medley who just came off huge success of the Dirty Dancing theme song “Time Of My Life “ to sing Rick’s theme song Rude Awakeing.

Staff Songwriter for Sony Music Nashville

Rick was introduced to the burgeoning songwriting scene in Nashville through his believers in New York City where he performed a four-song acoustic audition for Country Hall of Fame songwriter Bobby Braddock that landed him a eight year songwriting contract with Sony ATV Music Publishing. Dividing his time between Toronto and Nashville, Rick continued to work with some of the best ‘hit-makers’ in the industry and his songs were covered by several leading artists, including the highly acclaimed Juno Winners, Canadian band Doc Walker, who recorded Dreaming Out Loud, a song Rick co-wrote with fellow Canadian Songwriter Naisoe Sheridan. Rick was also invited to work with American songwriter Desmond Child – considered one of music’s most successful creative forces.

Robert Plant Tribute CD
Rick was invited to perform on a Robert Plant of Led Zeepelin”s Tribuite CD of his solo songs for Robert Plants ABC fund to help kids in South America.

Niagara Wall of Fame Induction

He jumped in and helped his hometown in many various fundraisers where ever they needed help with his global connections and local networking abilities , he has helped out more than 200 fundraisers and events and has been inducted into the Arts & Culture Wall of Fame in Niagara Square along side Deadmous , James Cameron , Stephan Moccio where the plaques are at Niagara Square.
