Reggae Classic Garth Dennis is a 4X Reggae Grammy nominee and an original member of the Trench town musical fraternity of Kingston Jamaica, the birthplace of Reggae music. Has been in the enertainment industry for 40 yrs. The community of Waterhouse is one of the volatile areas of Kingston and home of some of the legendary Reggae groups such as; Black Uhuru and Wailing souls. Garth Dennis was an original member and 1st lead singer of Black Uhuru. There were 3 singles recorded circa 1971-73. Garth re-formed the group with original members Don Carlos and Duckie Simpson 1989-1999. The outcome of that reunion being 4 Reggae Grammy nominations. During his break from Black Uhuru he performed as an original member of the legendary Wailing Souls, 1974-1985. As a member of the group they produced most of their pivotal music of their catalogue. Including the track , 'Things and time' recently placed in the hollywood movie "Dear John'.
Today Garth Dennis is performing music from his repertoire that includes tracks from his Black Uhuru Grammy nominated 4 albums as well as the Wailing Souls catalogue. His on stage performance is highlighted by his new recordings and backed by 'Blaze Mob' band, which are his sons, Shaka Rock, Gyasi Gong and King Saeed.
