Spartanburg, South Carolina native Robert Mullins, aka Moody Black has been performing since the age of 12. This rapper, actor, poet fuses soul and rhyme to make a unique style of Hip-Hop. Some people have even said that Moody Black sounds like a blend of Andre 3000, Mos Def, and Common. Moody Black makes every effort to make sure that there is a life lesson in all of his lyrics and songs. Besides gaining individual recognition: Moody Black has worked with a group of outstanding artists from Upstate South Carolina.

Local performances and opened up for C-Knowledge of Digable Planets at Magnolia Street Pub- July 15, 2000; featured in “Behind the Band” Escape section of the Spartanburg Herald Journal, September 15, 2000;Performed at the Juvenile Diabetes benefit in Inman, S.C.- September 30, 2000/ (Newspeak project with Ings) featured in Blazzin On-Line Magazine with the group Newspeak- 2002;New Brooklyn Tavern in Columbia, SC.- January 2, 2003 with Ali Rah, Jon Lyric, and J.
