At 24 years old, I've grown to love Columbus and call it my home.
I've performed around Columbus since I was in high school, joined many incredible local songwriters on stages, and thankful to know many of them as friends. With the support of local songwriters, I launched Columbus Songwriters Association in October 2012, and recently began a local music distribution in Columbus called Local Music Shelf. I love spontaneous road trips, which often lead to busking in the Chicago subways, and recording songs live with my iPhone. In fact, a couple years ago I released a music project that I recorded with my iPhone in the Chicago subways, called GROW. Last year I performed shows in Chicago, Louisville, and spent a lot of time in Nashville. In 2013, I've been very blessed to have performed in the 2013 Music In The Round, the MacConnell Arts Center's Songwriter Sampler, the Natalie's Coal Fired Pizza showcase, the Columbus Songwriters Association showcase at Woodlands, was selected as the finalist for the Donatos Pizza Songwriting Contest, and the Grow Music Project in Los Angeles. Towards the end of 2013, I plan to take some time to for busking in the Chicago subways, in preparation for a new album!
"Once we heard Joey start singing on 'Falling For It', it took us about three seconds to realize that Joey is an artist that needs to be added to everyone's playlist now. The soulfulness of his voice and the emotion in his lyrics should make millions of people fall in love with him, and provide the soundtrack for at least as many relationships coming together and falling apart, both real and scripted on movie and television screens everywhere. We can't wait to hear him in person, work with him in the studio, and watch him as his career develops. And we are excited to be able to help that along in every way we can." - Christopher Tyng
