Didn't Planet / Bio

After over 10 years honing their craft on the Boston cover band circuit, Didn't Planet's 2012 debut original album "We're Goin' Nowhere" scored high marks among power pop critics. The concept album introduced he world to the band's unique brand of clever and meaningful lyrics, equal parts funny and heart-breaking.

Absolute Power Pop wrote:
"Didn't Planet's sound here is somewhere between Fountains of Wayne and Weezer, with the just the right amount of smartass those bands are known for....The driving "Maryann(e)" recalls the poppier side of Green Day... It's nice to see ambition meet execution, and these guys have learned enough from playing those covers to make a sound of their own worth covering.

"The fun the band had putting this collection together is palpable and contagious. But don’t let the light-heartedness fool you – these guys know their craft. “We’re Goin’ Nowhere” sparkles with radiant harmonies and super catchy melodies."

Proceeds from Didn't Planet's "Boston Girl" go directly to the Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy fund, benefitting muscular dystrophy research in honor of a good friend and longtime supporter of the band. A previously unreleased single, "Boston Girl" is a guitar-driven story of love gone wrong in Boston. With Didn't Planet's patented brand of funny but poignant songwriting, the lyrics tell the tale of a Fenway "angel" and her short-lived romance with a small, dark stranger.
