Born a legend destined for greatness, Brooklyn, NY hip hop artist “City The Great” has emerged from the bottom looking towards the top. Influenced by early generation rap he began writing his first song in 1989. Facing the multiple trials and tribulations in a poverty stricken up bringing losing both parents at a young age he began to express himself through his writings. Based on what was going on around him and things he experienced. Introduced to the studio scene later on at the age of 15 he cut his first CD titled “The Journal” produced by D-Brown of D-Man Studios. Unfortunately due to his wild cowboy instincts and hustler mentally streetwise he found himself in legal trouble at a young age while trying to support his newborn son. Leaving behind various recording deals with major labels such as Sony and Loud behind.
After a 6 year sentence he had given up his passion of music and began to try to live the life of an average Joe working various jobs to support his family. Refusing to transgress back to the system and disgusted by the new generation of a more Pop bound Hip Hop culture, City began to write again after praying for God to show him a legitimate way to earn funds. Through growth and development City has proven to become a versatile lyrical marvel that is a force to be challenged. Looks like the game changer is at the door patiently waiting to step through.
