History of Monsters was founded in the summer of 2008 by four friends wanting to do one thing... play rock and roll. Putting all of their hearts into every beat and note they wrote, they slammed out a demo within a year and gathered a strong local following. Dan Meihle, Stevo Sullivan, Cameron Schneider and bassist at the time Richie, began playing as many local shows as possible, making friends and new family along the way. Cleverly blending the fun loving spirit and simplicity of southern rock n' roll, with the brutal heaviness of breakdowns and dance parts of hardcore, the Sebastian Florida quartet showed their love of their music, creating and coining a new term called "southerncore" for their sound. Winter of 2009, the band hit the studio and recorded a self funded EP, entitled "Danger Scout" at Richter Studios. Released in the beginning of 2010, full of the bands original popular songs, and a few new surprises. The EP also coined the term for the bands true blue followers, called also, Danger Scouts.
Losing their original bass player, and gaining the musical talent of Cory Kouns, the boys starting writing a new set and a newer, heavier sound but still with the raw rock sound the band is known for. Progressing with the new sound, the boys hit the studio in the spring of 2010 to record a one song demo, "Phone, Wallet, Keys" at the Fort Studio in Orlando.
Playing constant shows and benefits to support their local scene and venues, History of Monsters is a band known for their live show, full of raw energy and a finger lickin' good time. Buying a tour van and a trailer, History of Monsters plans to hit the road in the summer of 2010 on their first ever tour, entitled "AlligaTOUR", come see them at a venue near you and make some new friends!
