Black Sixteen are a London based rock band. Their eponymous self-produced debut EP was released in early 2012, and they are currently recording their second release for 2014.
The band was founded by frontman Amir Khan and drummer Matt Burn, who performed live in London and around the UK with ex-keyboardist Laura Sepp and original bassist Alex Brock before their departures, making way for the entrance of new bass-player Dany Jones (formerly of Kopperhed).
Moving forward as a three-piece with a harder stripped down sound; their early style of delicately heavy rock has evolved into a venomous form of dark grunge noise, a bitter tongued pill that burns on the way down.
Their influences span a wide range of artists and bands, including Nine Inch Nails, Pixies, Tori Amos, At The Drive-In, The Cure, Alice In Chains, Ministry, Nirvana, Tool, Massive Attack, Faith No More, The Afghan Whigs, The White Stripes, Therapy? and many more.
