2007 The Apostles were formed in Spring,TX with Gerald Lee Rodriguez and his three sons Gee, Jacob and Justin along with friend, Joe F. The band toured for two and a half years throughout Texas with Joe singing lead, and they even performed at Houston's Rock the Bayou. Plus, got called for a second show!! In 2009, The Apostles decided to take a break from music and thus focused on their work careers.
In 2010, they decided to return to the stage, holding auditions in search of a new lead vocalist. Many unique and talented artists showed up to fill the roll, but it was Glass Lozano who landed the gig to become the new front-man for the band. They wrote a lot of music together, and performed twice at Warehouse Live. Yet it started to become apparent that Glass' style, and the musical direction the band wanted to take were going in two different directions though. So Glass parted ways with the band after only their 2nd show together in mid 2011.
Near the end of 2011, the band held auditions once again. This time picking James Garza(JD) as their new lead singer. Together, they achieved the hard-hitting, in-your-face, hard rock sound which the band was trying to achieve beforehand. Together they headlined the House of Blues and rocked Warehouse Live like never before with songs like, "Where Do I Stand" and "Hold On!" The year of 2012 was another great one for The Apostles! Towards the end however it was evident that like Glass Lozano, JD was also going in a different direction with his musical style. Thus he unfortunately parted ways.
March of 2013, The Apostles went on tour with Dan Spitz from Anthrax and his new band at the time, Red Lamb, with Mark Thorn , and it was great though very brief.
It wasn't until August of 2013, that Gerald fortuitously came across the eccentric though magnetic Qu Griffin from Houston,TX. Gerald approached him about auditioning for the band's front-man, and Qu eagerly accepted the invitation after almost two years of taking a break from the music scene. Qu's vocals were and still are, very soulful, powerful, and put so much meaning behind his lyrics and Apostles' music that the band then knew that they had found what they were truly looking for in a lead singer. Wait until you hear this guy's voice! Qu has tons of energy and so much commitment to The Apostles that will take them to the next level and beyond in their music career! Yet their trials were not over. Two of the founding members, Jacob and Justin, suddenly decided they were done with music at least for the time being/indefinitely in early October of 2013. Thus focusing more on their work careers. Without a drummer or a bassist, the Apostles faced one of their biggest hurdles. Yet with the help of their new lead singer, Qu, The Apostles enlisted the rad-tactic beats of drummer Luke Blaschke-Peters who had already played in two previous bands with Qu Griffin. Now, The Apostles could breathe a little easier, but they couldn't relax just yet. One final piece of the puzzle was still missing..BASS! Then in January of 2014, Gerald answered a reply to the band's bassist audition ad from Scotland's own, Lee Dickson. Lee stepped up to the plate, and clicked immediately with the band with his intricate and melodious bass riffs. Finally after a so many trials, the band known as The Apostles have become a complete unit again, single-minded in achieving one goal..to be the best at what they do. ROCKING YOU OUT LIKE NO OTHER!!!
