A searing mix of heavy guitars, pulsing rhythms, and fierce vocals. Contour is an ode to all the dying bands of their youth, continuing to diverge into new paths of Alternative/Hard Rock where others left off. Contour is comprised of Kayle Goguen(Lead vox & guitar),Phil Larochelle (Guitar), Alex McGee (Bass) and Tyler Hooper (Drums). Since forming in 2012, Contour has been hard at work creating, producing and finding every way possible to share their music. Hailing from different spots around the greater Toronto area of Ontario, Canada, Contour is focused on creating energetic, thought provoking music to contrast what they feel has become an increasingly bland music scene. Influenced largely from bands that started in the late 90's to early 2000's, the four members have watched many of their favourite bands die off. They now hope to continue on where bands like alexisonfire, thrice, system of a down and underoath left off - pushing boundaries, creating genres and fusing new forms of art and music together. Contour has gained momentum since the release of their first EP - “Diverge”, they have widened their fan base by playing larger venues and recently started getting airplay on 94.9 FM The Rock. When asked about advice to other musicians in Unsigned Corner’s recent article, Member Kayle Goguen said “I could write you some inspirational quotes taken from a 13-year-old girl's Instagram pictures but instead I'm just going to say: Do it all for the music. I don't know where I'd be without it, so I only aim to replace and build upon what music I've consumed and to contribute to humanity's greatest escape.” Their intentions are purely to keep alive and share what is so important in their lives. In short, Contour makes the music that they want to play, and what their generation needs to hear.
