Formed in October 2010, Lightning Killed My Parents was brought together by the likes of Toni and Tony. Using ridiculous lyrics, upbeat tunes, and a pop cover or two Lightning Killed My Parents has won the hearts of concert goers all over the Western New York area.
In February 2011 the band entered the "spectrum battle of the bands" and won the opportunity to open for Jacks Mannequin.
In June 2011 the band released their five track EP titled "First Strike." Shortly after their release the band took off for a week long tour of New York State in August 2011.
LKMP has also opened for national ska bands such as Big D and the Kids Table, and the Toasters.
In May 2012 their full length album "Counterproductive" was recorded, produced, and released independantly. Following the release of the album the band toured the east coast for 17 days starting in Buffalo and working their way down to South Carolina and back up the coast.
In January 2013 the band embarked on an 11 day tour through the midwest hitting cities such as Chicago, St. Louis, Louisville, Knoxville, and a number more.
The band hopes to release another ep in May 2013.
