I'm from Charleston, South Carolina and started playing live with the Low Country Blues Society under the direction of Shrimp City Slim (Gary Erwin), when I was 15. After a stint in the Marines stationed in Camp Pendleton CA, I lived in San Diego for a couple of years and performed in various groups, the main two being The Tribe of Judah - anointed reggae band, and M.C. Funk P-Funk cover band, both of which were under the direction of one Professor Dread. I decided to move back to South Carolina, to find the Rock Cover scene fun and full of opportunity. After performing with an original act dubbed Deep Water Soul Society for a few years I met Nathan Calhoun and found we had fantastic musical chemistry. We developed a project based off of his unique style with which I accompany covers with lead comping and solos, and named the project Calhoun's Calling and currently perform at various venues Charleston. I am also currently at the College of Charleston studying Jazz Performance under Saxophone studies professor and program head Robert Lewis, and am starting to sit in more and more with various jazz combo's around town. It's awesome to be surrounded by so many great and friendly musicians here in Charleston and I hope you'll come hang out with me and enjoy some tunes.
