Hi, I'm Kyle Abner. A self taught musician from Northern Kentucky. I was born August 13, 1987 and was raised in the city of Taylor Mill, Ky where I still live. Taylor Mill is only a few miles away from Cincinnati, Oh. I picked up my fathers guitar for the first time at the age of 14, watched a how to video and caught on very quickly. While practicing the little bit I had seen, what I didn't know I researched the rest online. Growing up with a rough childhood I found that music was my only way out into my own happiness. More specifically, the band, Matchbox Twenty. From Rob Thomas's lyrics to Paul Doucette's drumming. Kyle Cooks guitar and Brian Yale's Bass. My Idol is Kyle Cook because of his creativity in everything he does, it is unique and it really affected me in the way that I enjoy and write music. My influences as well are Green River Ordinance, The Goo Goo Dolls, 3 Doors Down, Gin Blossoms and many many more.
For the last 13 years I have been in several bands that never really went anywhere (due to having issues with people with really big egos). I like to play music for fun and to give back to people and share with them my passion. I started to get into song writing about 7 years ago and started working on my vocals.
Today, I write as much as I possibly can using many different influences in my writing. I do not try to sound like anyone, instead I try to use them as a guide. At first I didn't know where my sound was and what was coming out isn't what I wanted. I initially tried to sound like others, but when friends and family said that they "like what I have" and I should "pursue music" is when I embraced my own style. Unique but somewhat familiar to the listener, I try to share with everyone what I enjoy most and that is music. I do it for those who enjoy my songs.
