“Erica, your music is so soulful… and sexy…I love your phrasing…” – John Mayer (October, 2008).
Cutting through the airwaves, singer-songwriter Erica Leigh is a refreshing sound, set apart from the masses that seem to be just making noise. Her unique sound could be described as: Earthy-Soul Songwriter Music, meshing the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Sara Bareilles & Fiona Apple. Erica gives Pop music a new flavor by bringing together hints of Jazz, Soul and warm acoustic tones with her heartfelt lyrics and moving vocals. Those who listen to her music often say that she holds no part of herself back, writing songs that have a knack for staying with you long after they’ve ended.
Erica recently worked alongside John Mayer as part of his weeklong songwriting and production clinic at Berklee College of Music in Boston. While studying at the college she was recognized for her talents with songwriting awards from well-known performance rights organizations such as ASCAP and SESAC. She was also featured in key performances such as the Performer-Songwriter Showcase and Songwriter Night at the Berklee Performance Center for her winning song “Needing a Change”. Taking the stage in front of thousands, Erica has performed in choirs backing up names like pop-country recording artist Jo Dee Messina and folk singer Judy Collins. She has also performed at distinguished venues such as Boston’s Symphony Hall and its legendary Hatch Shell.
Truly a down-to-earth, thrill-of-the-moment girl at heart, Erica is inspired by how deeply music can touch others and she’s filled with a passion to create meaningful and honest music about the human experience. With her rapidly growing success as a performer, recording artist and songwriter, there is undoubtedly much more to come from Erica Leigh!
