“I Wish You Love” is the latest recording by the world-traveling vocalist Joy Voeth. With a voice that straddles the line between jazz legends such as Carmen McCrae and Cassandra Wilson and pop-jazz singer Sade, Joy Voeth has used her time overseas to her advantage, and brings these experiences to light in her emotionally captivating album “I Wish You Love.” This collection of jazz classics, recorded in Istanbul, has been carefully arranged and performed by a world-class trio, featuring three of Turkey's top jazz instrumentalists: Uraz Kivaner on piano, Ozan Musluoğlu on bass and Ferit Odman on drums.
Joy Voeth is an exuberant vocalist with a soulful and sophisticated sound. Her rich voice and naturally warm presence delight audiences worldwide. This winter, she returns for her second season at the Kempinski Hotel Soma Bay on the Red Sea in Egypt. In the summertime, she performs nightly at the Kempinski Barbaros Bay in Bodrum on the Aegean coast of Turkey.
Joy embodies her name. A mélange of rhythms, sounds, ideas, and energies, exuberantly expressed through one being. Joy was born into this life on the enchanting Caribbean island of Barbados. She spent her childhood shape shifting between the divergent societies of Barbados and Germany, learning quickly how to adapt to different languages and cultures. Joy spent her early years developing her talents as a classically trained singer, dancer and actor. While attending university in the USA, she immersed herself in jazz. Joy emerged with her own alchemy of sound, calling on all these traditions, and carrying them into the future on a wave of her own creation. Joy delights in creating spontaneous beauty and expanding awareness on this beautiful planet of ours.
