Vague Perception / Bio

Vague Perception started in 1984 By Brian Luiz and Bill Deluca who were working together in Dionysus a metal band with Bill's brother John on drums. Bringing in Arthur Rossi on drums and Dave Winslow on keys, one of the first songs written was called Vague Perception, a tune with a rockabilly swing that went into a very metal chorus, Vague Percep-shuh-uh-uh-unnn!!!! We decided that would be the band name. Bob Kent became the new keyboardist. Marc Critchett, and then Roger Kelly became the permanent bassist. After several parties and our first Living room gig Bob quit. The four of us recorded the Crucify 3 song EP. Then Bill quit, then Roger quit. Brian and Artie recorded the Polished Passion Lp with Bill Deluca guesting on several tracks and other guests.
After gigging in and out of other bands Brian, Artie and Roger now on lead guitar with Pat Carrigan brought Vague Perception back in late 87.
In early 1988 this band released their first 8 track cassette with a new band name Beer "Reinstate the draft". Brian Mastrobono joined the band on guitar, Pat and Roger quit so Brian L ,Artie and Brian M recorded the rest of the set and released as Beer "Live to drink" 1990,Roger guest on some tracks.
Pat,Roger,Brian M. and Artie started Great White Lionsnake. Brian L, Brian M and Bill Stailing( drummer for Vague Perception's Final Solution 1985-7, a fill in band for VP with Brian L and Artie playing guitar) started Remorse with guitarist Pete Lorden and his sister bassist Denise Lorden in 1991,
B.Rotgut started recording with Brian M and released three Throbmonster MC cassettes and the Good Natured cow cassette. Brian Rotgut, Bill Stailing, Lee Mastrobono started Muthis of infection 1993. Continued with John Deluca, and then with Bob Evon and Lee M.
During this period several mixed groups of VP members began playing as WestbayUndergound. Vague records became Thrashbag records,One Eyed snake records, Vein Pumping records, west bay undergound and then back to Vague records.
In 1996 Brian L,Bill Stailing,Pete Lorden started Richard Cranium and released October Massacre jam. During this time we just went undergound .(2 albums "October Massacre Jelly" and "Spread Eagle and the Oderiferous plankton" were released as M &M studio collection 1 and 2 with mixed bands and guests. Several mixed gigs with guests including Chris Sweet an acoustic guiarist/vocalist as Westbay Undergound were played until releasing Richard Cranium "Elfsinduced dain bramage" with Bill Stailing and Brian performing most tracks with guests including Bill Deluca and Bill Stailing's wife Toni on vocals. In Bill's own studio with no gigs being performed Richard Cranium released 7 albumsfrom 2002-2005.
Guest appearing vocals on a track was british vocalist Simon Mitchell. Bill just recorded his band The Vegas shirts at his studio. Simon,Bill and Brian recorded "The Simon and the Hymen" Lp. Simon said we shoud use the old name Vague Perception. Vague Perception 2005 Lp was released.
In 2006 Roger Kelly rejoined the band and the Crinkum Crankum LP was released. In 2007 Vague Perception played the Green room in downtown Providence, the first gig in 8 years. The year ended with the release of "Devil in disguise". The band transformed from a studio band to constant Live gigging locally for the next few years.
