TIKSTA is a rap artist based out of the Bay Area California. His name comes from his nickname LUNATIK which was given' to him as a youngster in the streets. His road in the rap game was a long one, but one that taught him both the creative & business side of the industry. He started his own label PAPER HOUND ENTERTAINMENT to be able to have full control of the production and ownership of his art. Born and Raised on the West Coast TIKSTA's influences who paved the way were N.W.A., DJ Quik, Too Short, E-40, and Ice T, as well as East Coast legends Rakim, KRS1, and Public Enemy.
His style is one that is described as gritty with substance. The subjects that he touches on contain ideas and experiences from situations and beliefs that the streets gave him to stamp his music with his own identity. His goal is to create a product that the listeners not only can relate to but also enjoy.
TIKSTA released his CD NOKTURNYL in 2009 with features by Bonelark, Infamous, Gotit Boys, and Tragik. His first single entitled LETHYL had that smooth laid back sound that the West is known for. He believes "We need to get back to what made us who we are instead of doing' what everyone else is doing'" when asked about the state of the West Coast rap scene.
He is currently working on his next CD "FEAST or FAMINE" with features by Syke Pachino, R@me, 4 RAX, & Big Kleff. His hopes are to use his music & label to open doors for the next generation of West Coast rap artist who need to be heard....
