East Clintwood, currently made up of two brothers and five instruments (give or take), is a band with a sound like few others. Singer/Songwriter Gabe, the eldest, leads the parade with infectious foot-stomping percussion - utilizing all his limbs to operate a kick drum, hi-hat (with tambourine) as well as hammering the hell out of a '94 Gibson Gospel and blowing his lungs out on a variety of harmonicas (not just your garden variety diatonics...). Gabe may not chirp like a songbird, but he sings with passion and honesty. Josiah, the shaman, stands with power and dignity while exploring his vintage mandolin with verocity, drawing influence from everything from bluegrass, gypsy jazz, heavy metal, and absinthe-soaked carnival rides. Together the duo brings forth a fresh take on old sounds. Original songs in an ever changing world of music, an "anti-" to an industry filled with cover bands, money hungry corporations cashing in on counter culture, and goddamn phonies.
