Since reëmerging in the summer of 2012, THE HUNGRY EARS have quickly restablished a strong presence in the Bowling Green music scene, opening for acts such as Cage The Elephant, Morning Teleportation, Sleeper Agent, Turbo Fruits, Jeff The BrotherHood, Daniel Johnson, and Five Knives. Featured earlier this year on KET's Shaker Sessions, the 5-piece ensemble laid the groundwork for a signature genre colliding sound on there 7'' single ''Failure to Speak'', relesed on indie label Mooster Records (Chicago, IL). Now with a forthcoming follow up EP THE HUNGRY EARS are making a quantum leap towards a singular sonic universe. Citing influences such as R.A.T.M, Talking Heads, Beastie Boys, Sonic Youth, @ The Drive Inn, Devo, The Fun Boy 3 and Nine Inch Nails. their music draws from an organic live rock core while melding electronic elements and stirring vocals. The overall result is progressive yet warmly familiar, slating The Hungry Ears as one of the most intriguing bands to watch in 2014.
