Jordan Kane graduated from North Carolina Central University with a 3.4 GPA and a Major in Jazz Studies. Though primarily focused on Jazz, he is skilled in several styles; Classical, R&B, Funk, Pop and Gospel as well, in addition to Jazz. Striving to improve his skills everyday, Jordan's primary instrument is Alto Saxophone, however he also plays Tenor Saxophone regularly, as well as Flute, and has even performed some vocal selections, with plans on bringing both flute and singing more firmly into his repertoire in the near future.
Jordan has performed with many well renowned Jazz artists including Branford Marsalis, David “Fathead” Newman, Jimmy Heath, Christian McBride, Steve Wilson, Joey Calderazo, Antonio Heart, Nneena Freelon, Doug Richards, and Rene Marie. He has also attended several widely respected musical clinics and competitions, including the 2008 International
Annual Jazz Education Festival (Toronto, Canada), the 2009 Newport Jazz Festival (Newport, Rhode Island), and the Detroit Jazz Festival (Detroit, Michigan). Lastly, he has performed for several years on cruise ships with Holland America Line, displaying proficiency in a wide variety of genres, sight reading, crowd interaction, and professional presentation/attire.
