Completely dedicated. These are the two words that best describe Nashville-based singer/songwriter, Hope Nix. Talented, hard working, and brilliant closely follow.
Born and raised in Edmond, Oklahoma, Hope’s dedication to her musical talent and love for singing started at an early age. At just 3 years old, Hope was taking voice lessons, which quickly led to playing shows all across the Sooner state. And for the next 14 years, Hope performed any time and any place she could, from hometown churches and nursing homes to state fairs and festivals. Hope also began writing songs at age 14 and it wasn’t long after that Nashville started calling her name.
After convincing her supportive parents, Hope finished high school classes online so she could travel back and forth from Edmond to Nashville. She spent her time during those trips, writing and playing songwriters venues. Two years later, at just 19, Hope made the move to Music City. Having already made great connections to the industry, she quickly became immersed and entrenched into the town’s creative environment, writing and performing as much as possible. Early on, Hope found herself in writing sessions with several extraordinarily successful songwriters, including Deanna Walker (Kenny Rogers, Dixie Chicks) and Steve Williams (George Strait, Craig Morgan), to name a few. In 2011, Hope recorded her debut Nashville album, writing every song on the record.
Equipped with more stage experience, vocal lessons, and hours spent in songwriting sessions than most signed artists in Nashville, Hope’s ‘complete dedication’ to her love of music is evidenced in her latest project, “So Right Now” (EP). “So Right Now” (EP) is a 6-song compilation of original music that exemplifies Hope’s talent and growth. Again writing every song on the project, Hope calls the 2014 release her “biggest accomplishment” to date, saying “It shines light on who I truly am as an artist and what I hope fans will relate to and enjoy."
With hard work, and complete devotion to her music Hope continues to set her goals higher and is determined to turn her dreams of becoming a country music superstar into reality.
