Founded in 2004 by lead singer and guitarist madman, Nick Baranov, the speed/thrash metal quintet RATTLEHEAD has been busy making a dent in metal history for the past decade. Also featuring Francis Ausley, on lead guitars, CJ “Shadow” Valtierra on bass, and Hector “The Butcher” Llentillin on drums, Rattlehead's memorable songwriting ensures that their thrashing business is very, very good.
The band recently released their 4th independent effort, entitled “The Blackout Brigade”, which features some of their most mature and powerful songs to date. Co-produced by Sam Totman of Dragonforce, the 5 song EP has garnered the band much attention, with pre-orders coming in worldwide from countries like Russia, Italy, Japan, Germany, and Switzerland, as well as steady iTunes sales, and thousands of CD’s sold within a 2 month US tour to support the release in the summer of 2014.
Picking up the pace over the last five years, Rattlehead has secured 5 consecutive nationwide, headlining tours, with their most recent trek in June 2014 capturing a whopping 47 shows in 50 days. Between tours, Rattlehead stays busy ravaging the regional scene, with notable performances including direct support for bands such as Overkill, Doro Pesch, Misfits, Prong, and most recently, Knotfest 2014.
The band’s unwavering hunger for touring and performing has ultimately earned them artist endorsements with such industry heavyweights as Jackson Guitars, Ibanez Guitars, Zildjian Cymbals, TAMA Drums, and Coffin Case.
