Rick Shaw - That's not a stage name. I came by singing/writing/ performing - honestly. It was in the genes! Dad's mother was a songwriter/country/blues influenced poet and singer all her life. She passed those gifts on to her son - my father - Jim Shaw. He had a run starting in the 50s,and through the 60s,and 70s, in the country music world, and worked many shows with the "stars" of his day.I inherited quite a bit from those two, which I developed into my own style of writing and performing over the last thirty some years. I've played on the road for years, chasing after my own musical tale. I opened and performed on stage with such people as Earl Thomas Conley, David Wills, Nat Stuckey,Narvelle Felts,Eddie Raven, Marty Stuart, Ronnie McDowell,Jim Ed Brown, Question Mark & the Mysterians, Willie Nelson, and B.B King, to name a few. I'm country/rock/blues/jazz and then some. I hope to meet you someday. To play, sing, and share my flavour of music with you.
