RebeLinx is multi faceted artist who was born in the 20th century Port of Spain, Trinidad. Linx as he’s called, came to Canada by 4years old and grew up in and around metro Toronto area before the family moved to Malton suburbs known for airplane development & famous Airport. Linx found himself manufacturing music as far back to when he can remember his father (a musician himself back in Trinidad) giving him a saxophone and putting on shows. In his teens, he created the band ‘Genius of Funk’ with Lasalle Stephens (producer for Carol Cox) & he also known to put on theater productions. Linx continued to pursue his artistic gift right out of high school. On the road the street became his classroom playing in cities such as Montreal, New York, London, Paris, Spain, etc. He traded in the sax for acting (alongside the likes of Tom Cruise 'Cocktails') carving out a career in film. Graduating as producer, director, writer of filmmaking he found a Montreal film alliance called ‘Rebel Art society’ for indi Black film and video artists.’ It was in London at the height of the acid jazz era hitting that city Linx sax & vocal styling came of age. Linx started recording with collaborative efforts out west Vancouver Mat the Alien then his new partner Chris 'Clev' Guy at Hipposonic studio's. Linx solo styling and live shows took flight - performing vocals with his Sax, Beat-Box and Ragga lyrics, alongside a diverse group of musicians and Dj's and even actors (Malcolm Jamal Warner on album “Dope New Soul Cats”). Over the years Linx has been battling with his health; Chronic Kidney failure. He had been on dialysis for well over 20 years. During that time him and partner Clev teamed up to do the soundtrack, a film Linx wrote, produced, and directed “Fade to Black” that became a short. The film was his vision for a compilation of Black artist getting together and doing something in film and music. Together they went on to record their second album 'Dope New Soul Cats', while Linx was touring Europe he was hospitalized again with the kidney problems. It took 3years to recover and by 2008 he received a new kidney. During that time he recorded 'Fistula' dedicated to the nurses, doctors and donor family who gave him a new life. Devoting his time to his local community celebrating Afro–Canadian heritage in film&music he went back to the studio’s with this new lease on life and his first love Saxophone. He started the journey recording the new album 'Destiny' in New York, Vancouver, and London. Flank with a host of very talented musicians, Dj's , and engineers Linx has manufactured adaptations of World beat and electric dance to the conscious heart and spirit of combined rhythms in jazz.
