No twang in this voice but to the trained ear, one can almost hear a southern drawl—from South of the Equator, that is. “My heart beats North American blood to a South American rhythm”, explains the singer-songwriter who was born in Argentina to a Texas/Montana couple but actually grew up in Brazil where she spent the biggest part of her life in missions.
Ironically, being raised in a musical family—singing, playing the guitar, and performing from a very young age—was not enough to make her consider a music career. In fact, it didn't happen until she found herself being invited to perform on Brazilian radio, TV, and at the Festa do Peao de Boiadeiro in Barretos, the biggest cowboy festival in South America.
Since migrating back in 2006 to the “wild-wild-North-West”, as she calls it, Moody has steadily established herself within her community as an independent artist; but her reach does not stop there. Crossing stylistic, cultural, and language barriers, Eden’s crisp vocals and engaging stage presence combined with her refreshingly honest lyrics and delivery have not only drawn considerable local attention, but have also piqued international curiosity as she continues to interact with Portuguese and Spanish speaking fans via social media. Such are the ripples that will likely turn into waves with her debut single, “This Is Me”, released February 2013—a mere taste of what is to be her debut album, coming soon.
