Kendis - five musicians , five characters, sharing the same vision. With all their experience and passion Kendis create something becoming increasingly rare in today's rock music: a truly unique sound with really great melodies.
The fledgling success story of Kendis starts with singer and songwriter Sascha Miskovic. At the beginning of the millennium the classically trained pianist took Germany’s biggest stages as frontman of German Alternative-shootingstars Black Milk. Despite a major deal, extensive tours across Europe and good chart positions the band dissolved . Soon Sascha had a bunch of new songs written and ready to be performed. From the very first note Sascha, drummer Robin Stirnberg, guitarist Christian Sträter and bassist Christopher Heimer played together, the atmosphere is filled with that magical, crackling tension that makes a great rock band.
After a strong debut EP, radio airplay and numerous gigs all over Germany (e.g. as support for Luxuslärm, Juli and Sunrise Avenue) Kendis are tight and ready to establish themselves on the big stages. Soon fans are coming to their shows even from abroad and Sascha's intimate version of "The Kill" by 30 Seconds to Mars, performed at the famous German talent show “Das Supertalent” is watched by millions of enthusiastic people .
The positive media reviews encouraged the band to take the next step. In spring 2014, the first Kendis-Full-Length-Album will be released. The record is produced by Fabio Trentini (known for his work with Guano Apes, Donots, H -Blockx, The Intersphere and many others), who recognized the quartet’s potential. Circling around Sascha’s classically inspired piano arrangements and outstanding vocal harmonies, the band creates a pulsating soundscape: Highly musical, truly progressive and too unique to be pigeonholed . And when it feels like the Beatles had exchanged ideas with Radiohead, U2 , Muse, Dredg, Porcupine Tree and the Foo Fighters, Kendis can actually have done nothing wrong.
Until the album release the band keeps up working hard: besides preparing for a video shoot supporting the album’s first single, Kendis are working on a live performance which truly captures the spirit of the recordings. Since the summer of 2013, well-known studio and live musician Dirk Edelhoff is supporting Kendis on guitar. With all his experience and musical skills Edelhoff has soon become an enriching part and permanent member of the band.
One thing’s for sure: In 2014 there will be no way around Kendis. The band will make it happen!
