VERSE 1
Uncle Ronnie never said much, for most of my childhood,
And I guess I thought that’s how he always was,
But there’s an explanation for a man to do, all the things he does,

VERSE 2
He grew up on the border, of Kansas and Missouri,
With two brothers, four sisters, Dad, and Mom,
But then, bad luck or destiny, took him across the sea to Vietnam,

VERSE 3
He was trained to be a medic, for the U-ni-ted States Army,
And he tried his best to mentally prepare,
But a small piece of him died, with every day of hell that he spent there,

CHORUS 1
They decorated him with medals, for his selfless acts in battles,
They say he did what others wouldn’t do,
To help a fellow fallen brother, make it home to Dad and Mother,
Praying he could make it back home too,
Now I understand the silence, and I finally get, why Ronnie got the blues,

GUITAR SOLOS

VERSE 4
Now when he turns on his music, some folks just don’t get it,
He finds comfort in the saddest blues for sure,
In ways he never did before that God-forsaken war,

CHORUS 2
They decorated him with medals, for his selfless acts in battles,
They said Shalzy did what others wouldn’t do,
To help a fellow fallen brother, make it home to Dad and Mother,
And praying he could make it back home too,
Now I understand the silence, and I finally get, why Ronnie got the blues,

GUITAR SOLOS
