A freckled face boy with a warm wide smile that seemed to light the sun
A giving heart and gentle soul he was loved by everyone
At eight years old he became a dad to that little stray pup
If you thought he couldn’t give much more, then you never saw the love

Four years later that freckled face looked pale and he grew weak
The doctor said there’s not much time as his pup laid at his feet
His best friend never left his side even when the days got tough
And when they had to say goodbye he knew there’d always be love
