White Collar Crime

Now we’re all together, let me tell you what’s true
I’ve seen some tough times; I just about pulled through
I’ve been on the bottom, wasn’t crazy about that time
I got me a job now; I’m doing some white collar crime

Started with a desk, one that locks
I got away with a computer; it was still in the box
I was going to reform, I thought about the fine
But I took the easy way out, stuck to my white collar crime.

I moved millions, just by the flick of a switch
I played the corporate man who signed up for a lifetime hitch
Transferred it offshore, way out to the Maritime
I was so good, at that white collar crime.

Now I’m spinning governments with irrelevant facts
While still running deals right in front of their backs
One thing I learned, all down the line
If you want to stay out of jail, stick to white collar crime

If you want to end your days on the sunny side of the street
Just put a suit on and find some little people to cheat
Working for a living, it’s such a waste of time
In the world today you get ahead with the white collar crime

I once had a conscience, a long time back
It fell off some way down that hard knocks track
Now I don’t worry about the poor, who haven’t got a dime
I love living high on the hog from the fruits of white collar crime.
