Tumbling Down
Falling from the heights 

The mighty strikes out for empire

Nation building on a collapsing foundation

Of rationalization

And voodoo economics 

Globalizing discontent, 

Distrust, and hunger's violence

Cries for self-reliance 

And self-determination

Evaporating gradations

Giving way to separated stations

Stark naked in their boldness

And shamelessness 

Butt naked as the emperor’s new clothes

Fashioned by sweatshop laborers

Confine like the straight jackets 

They finally replaced


As the chains of a new nation 

Of billions break free 

And re-establish links to humanity

We witness momentum changed 

Is momentum gained

Babylon falls
The cause preordained

The giant is sleepwalking on an unsupportable frame
In an unsustainable game

Floating along on clouds of mythos

Advertising their feasts of murder 

On their beasts of burden

Their feats of grandeur on the backs of the poor 

To the beat of co-opted culture

Like vultures dependent on the weak to eat

But when the spoils are spoiled

On themselves they'll repeat the deceit

Revealed as the beast its been all along
Til there’s nothing left to deplete

No exploits of exploitation 

To be extolled in song or jingle
As the chains of a new nation 

Of billions break free
