Your way

The light in your eyes
has been somewhat brighter than today,
speaking words of wisdom
brightening up my day.

Shades of all colors you can imagine
speaking words of wisdom
embedded in my brain.

What was I thinking
imagining wisdom
for truth in every way.

What was I thinking
wanting everybody
to be this way.

Bright lights are fading away
in gray clouds of endless nothingness.
then suddenly a thought emerging
bursting into a fake happiness.

I'm no stranger in my own place.
Looking around trying to find the light in your eyes,
the one before it's all gone gray.
Nothing is moving and the silence of voices are all looking a different way.

What was I thinking
wanting for you to live this way,
What was I thinking
taking your words for the truth in every way.

Then suddenly a thought bursting into a bright spark
of recognizing your face.
Speaking words of wisdom
brightening up my day and...............
shades of all colors emerging from this embedded pain.

What was I thinking
trying to be the hero of this game.
