Leave The Room

Well I looked up to the sky
& if I prayed, I would have prayed
Don't let me die.

My body's lying broken,
Lying limp as if somebody's
Stole my spine.

I hear each breath escape from me,
Like deserting rats from my sinking ship.

I'm not better than those gone before,
But it's not the time for me
To walk through that door

And I'd slap the face of death
How dare it pick the time
When I should leave the room.

Lucifer the enemy,
But we've grown a 'kin
As darkness closes in.

His hatred for the blinkered kind,
With prejudiced beliefs
Is justified.

He known no segregation,
Everyone can fuel & burn
In his hell fire.

I maybe spineless & broken,
But I can spit & hiss and bite.
A serpents fight.

And I'll slap the face of death
How dare it pick the time
When I should leave the room.

But I'll still slap the face of death,
Won't let it pick the time
When I should leave the room.
