Viewing lyrics for Ranjhana (Hindi/North Indian song cover) by Warsha E..

Me singing "ranjhana", a hindi song from the movie Dev D., originally by shilpa rao with kshitij.
First off, i LOVED this movie..the music..the characters..the almost mocking translation of 'devdas'...abhay deol..wow! being unconventional, it probably didn't work too well with the easy-going typical-popular-movie-liking crowd...but dang, a crowd that goes for aesthetics and direction would fall head over heels ;)
Coming to the song, "ra(a)njhana" (extra 'a' for pronunciation) means lover..it is about a girl's personal thoughts, wishes and experiences..sung in a quiet, introspective manner..stripped down to the girl's deepest emotions..just as the song is stripped bare of all percussion..
This is actually an extract from "dhol yaara dhol" (another song from the movie) with the wordings changed around from their original reflection of joy and happiness to sadness, loss, longing.
I'm afraid I don't have a word to word translation for this piece..
I'm aware that it is short..but there's something about the way it needs to be sung, the feeling (hehehe..coz i'm all abt the feeling) behind it.
Hope you enjoy it..
The point of this and "vaseegara" was to give you all a taste of some indian music and a transition to my roots.

enjoy!
