Blew through Bolinas,
Where she last held him
In the broken arms of Venus.
Rolling in the arms of Venus.

She went home,
Back to Salinas,
With the dawn light breaking
On some back road East of Eden.
Driving East of Eden.

How the years and miles,
Stretched out between them.
Now they’re tail lights fading,
On the highway that once freed them.
How the road once freed them.
