Can you imagine how the disciples felt?
When their master was taken and crucified
All there hopes and dreams completely destroyed
Was everything they lived for just a lie?

They felt betrayed and so afraid
They all wanted to run away and hide
Something happened, a miracle
He came to them and he was alive

He took twelve men and made witnesses of all of them
They were his disciples
Becoming the foundation that would carry his church to all nations
They were his disciples
Taking his word to spread it to the whole world
They were his disciples

Watching him die and then live again
They knew they had to spread this good news
So each of them became a Shepard of men
Losing all their fear for what they knew was true

They would all rely heavily
On the courage that he gave to them
They knew they would suffer terribly
There would be a strong opposition

They were beheaded, hanged and crucified
Pierced by spears for their beliefs
Even slayed alive with knives
They suffered and died for you and me

Sacrificing their lives so we may know
What their master claimed and then proved to them
Their commitment helps our faith grow
Give thanks to these extraordinary men

Peter was the one who denied his lord
He was unsure when he saw him die
Only one thing could make his faith be restored
To see his master come back alive

All the disciples felt the same way
When they saw him die and then rise again
If they knew their beliefs were not true
They would have never died for them
