Viewing lyrics for Shine On by Carolyn Wonderland.

This little ditty was written while driving through the deserts of Arizona on tour. We only had an AM/FM radio at the time, and after Art Bell went off the air, there were only religious stations listing the numerous ways in which one might find themselves bound for Hell... I switched it off. Everyone was asleep when the clouds parted and I wrote this love song for the one star in Orion's belt that kept peeking throughout the clouds. I was honored to play Larry Campbell's mandolin on this, and his guitar part on the last verse just makes the song for me.

There's one lone star, it's all I see tonight
The clouds have swallowed up all else in the sky
Mesmerized, I long to see
The same light on you the same light on me

CH:
Shine on, shine on down on me
May your lonely light be the only light keeping me company
Shine on, shine on without warning
Shine on without care cause if you're not there
I'll be left alone with the morning

One lone light on the freeway
I only hope they're open late
I sure would hate to turn this damn rig around
On this cold and dark interstate

(CH)

One spot light on the stage tonight
I know that means it's time to go
But I don't want to leave, or breathe my last reprieve
When there's time for one more song in this here show

(CH)

Shine on without care cause if you're not there
I'll be left alone with the mourning
