Passing Through-Marc Douglas Berardo
(C) 2010 Overhead Map Music, ASCAP.

The afternoon of the storm I stood on Sunset Hill
looking through the pouring rain as the great salt pond was filled, Beyond the point he sea was wild the sun was sinking down,Into the churning spray of the Block Island Sound.
Michael was from an Island family, he lived there most his life. I met him in the hotel lobby we talked into the night. Just before the twilight faded as the storm returned to sea, Michael stopped to collect his thoughts and said to me.
CHORUS
He said the more that you live the more that you learn that the wind will always blow and the tide will always turn but we are temporary, like the storm we are always passing through.

Michael had the wife and three children, ran charters on the bay after 60 years of making plans now he is living for today. He said: "With the storm come the changes, this rock is only shifting sand, when I was a boy that shallow harbor used to be dry land.
Chorus
Bridge
Ceaseless waves upon the shore the wind will always blow and time will erase your footprints when you go. The world will keep turning on and on and on, the world will keep turning when you're gone, on the sun.

Michael said: " memories are like photographs in black and in white and the shape of the world is what you know until another storm ignites. Boats here will keep arriving, people here gonna come and go, from my point of view on this stool that is all you really need to know.

Chorus 2
and the changes that come when the winds do blow that is the makers way to let you know that you are temporary, You are only passing through.
