It all started with two old men whose paths had crossed on and off throughout their musical careers.
Initially, it was mostly phrases like "back in the day", "how's the
weather", "old women", "time for my meds" or "what happened at the doctor's today."
Over time, their conversations took on a more serious tone as they
discussed things of a more political nature. They saw their lives in three stages doing, observing and now back to doing.
That's when the songwriting started.
Seeing the general direction of the country led to writing this song:
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH "We're through with your inside the beltway stuff. Why don't you read the bills you pass?"
A distaste for most incumbents became:
CAREER POLITICIANS "You tell lies, you compromise
Pass a jobs bill you're gonna need one soon"
Preparedness for economic collapse became:
BEANS, BULLETS AND BANDAIDS "Practiced my survival skills like gardening and sewing. Stored up on meds, paid off all my bills"
A plan for action became:
TAKE BACK OUR LAND "Our savings have dwindled
I think we've been swindled
God help fix our land"
This song writing adventure has been a fun and rewarding project for two old men down here in Florida.
We both hope you'll want to hear this music.
Pretty sure you'll enjoy it.
Now back to thoise sunsets over the Gulf.
PS....one of those old men is named Uncle Sam....no lie, just fact.
