David Namerow (Congas/Hand Percussion) / Bio

I don't play congOS, nor bongAS. CONGO is a place in Africa. BONGAS is a misrpronounciation of the word BONGOS referring to the paired, small hand drums usually held between the knees, but often today placed on a stand. CONGA is the Americanized name for the barrel-shaped drum, usually 28-30" inches tall and 11-13" inches wide, played singly or as a combination of 2 or more different sizes. I am a DOWNINGTOWN-based CONGA/BONGO/DJEMBE player/hand percussionist grateful for the many fans and musicians who've taken the time to comment on my contribution on these tracks. Am always open to new, challenging projects or even to just sit in for a fun jam.
