What an amazing journey can be made in just a short time! After gracing the stages of The Bluebird, The Commodore, and That’s Cool in Nashville, the journey began and Billy Sloan was on his way. Born and bred real Southern he insists on the return of REAL COUNTRY. Billy grew up with traditions steeped deep in Country Music. A musical family which began with Gospel, and then growing up in the shadows of Country music legends in Nashville, gave him the inspirations he needed. The talent however was a God given gift. A fan once described his range as going “from the floor to Heaven”. Billy can just as easily sing rock as he can country. He appreciates all forms of music, but true to his roots, he insists that 90% of all his shows be real country. His originals take you back to country’s roots. 2013 has been a whirlwind. It began in February when he opened for the legendary Lonestar then went on to play three shows during the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. Billy has always been involved with the Jam For Vets organization to support combat wounded Veterans. He has donated his time two years in a row to perform at the Victory Tent during the Detroit Downtown Hoedown. He and the band won the Battle of the Bands competition at the Ingham County Fair. Summer performances included Nashville In The Neighborhood, Leilapalooza, Battle Creek Balloon Festival, Countrypalooza, Texaco Showdown, and Harryfest. All of this and the release of his inaugural album, ‘Country Bound’ released in June. Surely, 2014 will be an amazing year as well…don’t miss it!!
